You write such pretty words
But life's no story book
Love is an excuse to get hurt
And to hurt
Szeretem a zöld görögdinnyét sok malachússal és némi zöld kecsappal

Oooh, I have one for creative *Waves hand in the air*
Once when I felt like SI-ing, I sat down a drew a picture of myself, trying to make it look like what I felt. I used all blue and black and stuff. And then round the outside I wrote the lyrics of a song that refers to SI (Hurt by Johnny Cash if anyone's interested - Some of the lyrics are in my signature* Well... I didn't really write them, just scribbled them in and made the bits that related the most darker and bolder. The I scribbled all over the words. I could still see them, but they weren't so prominent. It really helped.

"I'M A DISGUSTING WORTHLESS BILGESACK ON THE GARGANTUAN TEAT OF A LABORING, LEPROUS MUSCLEBEAST. MY SELF ESTEEM IS SO SMALL, ITS EXISTENCE IS A MATTER OF CONJECTURE AMONG THEORETICAL PHYSICISTS. THE ODOR MY BODY MAKES HAS MADE POETS CRY. I UNFAIRLY PULVERIZE THE COMPETITION IN ASSHOLE PAGEANTS, AND I HAVE RECEIVED A LIFETIME BAN FROM UGLY CONTESTS BY PRESIDENT SHITFACE HIMSELF. MY BLOOD IS NOT FIT TO FLOW THROUGH A SEWER, AND MY SIGN IS A PICTOGRAPHIC SYMBOL THAT LOOSELY TRANSLATES AS "PLEASE HIKE THESE PANTS UP TO THIS GUY'S ARMPITS, CHAIN HIM TO A FLOGGING JUT, AND MAKE A FUCKING EXAMPLE OUT OF THIS SORRY SACK OF SHIT." WHEN I LOOK IN A MIRROR, MY REFLECTION SLOWLY SHAKES HIS HEAD WHILE I WET MYSELF IN SHAME."

Thanks Laura
I got distracted at # 230ish and summin
but had thoughts
Re Relaxing techs &
such. I thought of the benefits of the body and mind to do forms or meditation or yoga style medatitive practises... You can really create your own to suit you individual needs
(i'll pop in a plug for 'Meditation' in sourcebook:
that and..umm.. creative art therapyish things. Colouring mandalas, or create your own. There are lots of great coloring 'mandals towards healing' book out there.

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world.

I love this list.I will try some tonight (I'm not thinking about SI,but I'm not in the best mood either).
Here's a silly one.Fill your bathtub up and take a bubble bath. Then scream and shout things under water.Nobody would know that you're screaming, you're going to have silly fun with the sounds that are made, and you can get relief from all that rage.
Of course,be careful since this is under water.

I just wanted to say thanks for this list. I don't often get online, so I saved it some time ago, and I go back to it time and time again when I feel bad. So thanks It's been a big help to me, and others.

coping strategies
Really great list, entertaining and educational, sensible without patronizing.
And I'd heard of henna tattoos, but had no real idea how they work. I'm gonna look into that one tomorrow!
Thanks for the upbeat posting. Take care. Later.
