I wanted to change the board language to Japanese, but it comes up gibberish ;_;

Why? I have the right language packs installed (I rarely, if ever, get gibberish when trying to read something in Japanese), I know that...

I run on a Mac if it helps...

Are you using Safari? Cos if so, I got gibberish too, but going to the View menu and setting the text encoding to one of the Japanese ones fixed it.
