my dad hit my sister and i was there... I had an overwhelming rush of feelings that I couldn't cope with
I read this and the first thing that came to my mind was fear.
That is, for me, and extremely difficult emotion to deal with.

Drawing is a good thing
Do you color?
For me coloring is col because I can use colors to help express things inside
Drawing works but the colors bring more out.

What about music
Using music to drown out the yelling .
