prom dress, oh my! *si*
prom dress, oh my! *si*
What on earth is to be done about prom???? I have to go dress shopping and try on dresses with someone and then I have to wear the dress to prom! They don't sell many long sleeved (cute) dresses to my knowledge and I shawl is just too classy or something. I have no idea what I can do, what did some other people do for their proms? (my scars are on my wrists and forearms). PLEASE help me if you can!

what comes before,
what after,
which is the master,
which is the slave;
what's big,
what's small.
O lord white as jasmine
if an ant should love you
and praise you,
will he not grow
to demon powers?

Well I'm in the UK so have only a very hazy idea of what a prom is
But this question has been asked before, so some stuff on these threads might help you:

prom dress
You can get nice lacy tops with sleeves- similar to a cardigan, which you can wear over the top of your dress. Apart from this I don't have any ideas- sorry! I'm sure you'll be fine though, I have every confidence in you.
Stay happy, luv Kel x.

If it's your forearms and wrists you want to cover, why not buy a pair of classy, long gloves? That's all I can think of really - also from the UK so I'm not to knowledgable about proms.

you can get lace gloves too...they are very cute.
for my prom style thing, i am planning on using a bit of concealer on the scars (mine are red, so iwill also use the light green stuff i use on my horribly red cheeks when i can be bothered), green tones down red. i wil have to be careful not to put arms on dress and rub hard though. then i will put a couple of fine bracelets - in keeping with my dress style - on my wrists - they really tone down the effect of scars.
inside the ball it will be too dark for anyone who is not looking out to see. and if you carry yourself with confidence and are not self-conscious about arms, then that might be ok.
that, and a slightly f***-off attitude ('long story', 'old scars', 'mind your own business', 'ask no questions get told no lies/keep all your teeth') if people ask mighthelp. though i have never been asked about my scars when i was wearing a formal dress.

Personally, I had the same problem for our school's "Winter Weekend" formal dance. And my dress had NO SLEVES.
Luckly, I asked my best friend who also used to cut what I could do, and we came up with teh idea that I could wear her "arm warmers"(for anyone who dosn't know, they're like those long gloves, but with no finger area), and that worked fine.
For prom, I found an AWESOME black rennasance-style dress, so it covers my arms.
I wish you the best of luck with your prom problems. *hugz*

Gloves would be so cute with a retro-style dress. I don't think a shawl would be too dressy for prom but it would be hard to keep it over your wrist all night without being obvious. If you are going with a date you could hint for a really big coursage.
Let me think about the people who I care about the most. And how when they fail or disappoint me, I still love them, I still give them chances, and I still see the best in them. Let me extend that generosity to myself.” — Ze Frank
They sell this pancake-type makeup in department stores to cover tattoos, but it works great on scars too (I can't remember it's name right now, though). But, it stays put much better than concealer. If I remember it's name, I'll get it to you.
My scars aren't that big, but they are clustered, and I've rarely been asked about them. It's going to be dark in there, too, so you may be okay au-natural. But, the big thing is you being comfortable. If you need to hide them, by all means, hide them! You should have fun, NOT worry about your scars.
