if you don't have one, now's a good time to maybe come up with one.

what will you do to keep yourself safe if you read something disturbing on the board?

Thanks for the new thread.
Maybe I will get some new ideas here.

Great idea as usual! :)

In the past when I've been triggered by something here, doesn't happen often as I'm not triggered easily by other people, but...

I've talked with others online here or I've gone to distractions and distracted myself or I immerse myself in a game somewhere online.
where are we? what the hell is going on?...
spin me around again and rub my eyes
this can't be happening...
oily marks appear on walls
where pleasue moments hung before
the takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this

color...
draw...
write a PM to someone...
go to the distractions or coping forums...
talk to people on instant messenger...
hold ice cubes in my hands...
go play dance dance revolution...

* write in place, try to explain what's wrong
* go on the distraction board
* go offline and work if possible (=get busy)
* call a friend
* maybe ask if I understood right, if there is something that upset me and shouldn't, or report to the moderators.

I usually just read another post or go to the distractions board and post there.

If I have read a post that I find triggering and it is NOT because I am trying to trigger myself. My plan is as follows:

1. Stop reading the post and don't go back there if someone else posts on it.

2. Post myself on how I am feeling and what I need(a hard one for me)

3. Ask hubby for hugs and anything else I need. For example hot milk, my blankee, my teddy bear etc etc.

4. If hubby is not home or he is sleeping get my blankee, my teddy bear myself.

5. Color

6. Write in journal

7. Use my emergency box

8. Play on pogo's web site

9. Go to distractions here. Try to do at least one page if not 2.

10. Phone T, if I am bad off

11. Use my emergency numbers for the crisis line or the resource team if I am bad off

12. Go to work with hubby if I am not feeling safe at home and my T is not available

13. Clean, clean, clean

14. Go through my clothes and figure out what to keep

15. Go to the gym

16. Watch a mindless tv show

What Can You Do?

Post by WishesandDreams » Tue Nov 04, 2003 8:02 am

Really, what can you do? :changes: I write or I go play pogo games. Most times I close off and end up hurting myself one way or another.
:1cat: Sometimes I cuddle with my blankies and dog Samantha. If its really bad I spend time with my friend, If she is available.  she has been sleeping more than anything. Or risk taking to the point where she triggers me too.
:chick: :rchick: :chick: :rchick: :chick: :rchick: :chick: :rchick: :chick: Mostly I "go away". Its easier that way right now. I think about my SI plans, where everything is. I try to sleep :bad-words: :bad-words: Its all damaging I think.

Someday I will be better. Until then I am always looking for new Ideas

Throw AOL CDs against the wall ;)

No, seriously... they're cheap, and useless. Well, useless to most people, but great for venting frustrations.
