Awesome list - thank you :redstar:

Just to add a grounding trick which I use a lot. I read this here a long time ago (can't find the post - sorry!);

Name 5 things you can see. (My desk, my phone, cuddly elephant, curtains, mug.)
Name 4 things you can hear. (Computer humming. Me typing. Clatter in the kitchen. Ringing in my ears.)
Name 3 thhings you can feel. (The chair under me. The desk under my wrists. My hair on my neck.)
Name 2 things you can smell. (Dinner cooking. Handcream.)
Name 1 good thing about yourself. (I'm trying this instead of going with the panic.)

I'll try to see if I can use anything of the above suggested methods, yeah. Thanks for posting anyway.

Those physical ones were very interesting... I wonder if this was kind like what I did when I was little when I got stressed out and I would always start tapping my foot or twitching or something repetitively just to sort of prove to myself that I was there and could do something.

I use the physical ones for when I am struggling with dissociation (taught by my ex psychologist). Thanks for sharing the full list! =)

it should probably be mentioned if it hasn't already, the first time you use these techniques, shouldn't be a full blown emotional episode, it should be a slight discomfort. otherwise it won't work with no practice and you'll end up feeling bad still
take care, lovelies :)

this may seem inappropriate but it's really helpful
sometimes i use masturbation as a grounding technique. it helps me to stay in the moment and focus on sensations rather than thoughts and feelings. of course this only works when i'm alone in my own bed room.
