there's an option under "profile":
Always Notify me of replies? Y/N. Make sure it's set to 'no'

If you do not want to be notified of replies to certain threads you can click the "Stop watching this topic" at the bottom of the thread or click thr "Stop wathing this topic" link in the notification you received
