You know what helps more than emergency boxes?
Putting whatever it is you SI with at the bottom of a box and putting everything else on top of it.
That way you don't give yourself an option not to look at the things in the happy box.
This has actually worked fairly well for me, because when I just had the happy box I was not disciplined enough to actually look in it before I cut.

That is a pretty good idea...that way you HAVE to look at all the happy things...I mean if you really wanted to SI you still could....but it is a good idea because if you didn't really want to SI then you would see these things and stop and look. You're pretty smart!

I wonder how many people are saying "fine" when they're not.
I think that from now on I'm going to look a little bit deeper...because I'm not the only one.

Yeah that's true. Also putting a big list of all the reasons why you're trying to stop SI on top of your tools, so you have to read it first.

i should use my emergency box more often i mean i have it there but i dont use it , so whats the point in having an emergency box if i dont use it?

WARNING, possible trigger *SI*
I don't ahve a safety "box" persay, rather, I have a corner of my room deticated to my best friends, who are my only reasons to not only not SI, but not SU. I have pictures of them together, them with me, stuff from stuff we've done, things to symbolize times we've hung out, inside jokes, or just plain them. I have everything like that there... I even have my tools there. So, I have to look them straight in the eye, read things they've written to me, and do it infront of them(even though it's not them obviously)
...and I've kept strong for 57 days now...

wow, this is such a good idea... i really like it.
We are the girls with anxiety disorders, filled appointment books, five-year plans. We take ourselves very, very seriously. We are the peacemakers, the do-gooders, the givers, the savers. We are on time, overly prepared, well read, and witty, intellectually curious, always moving… We drink coffee, a lot of it. We are on birth control, Prozac, and multivitamins… We are relentless, judgmental with ourselves, and forgiving to others. this works for me somewhat, but I put a red marker to draw on myself above my tool. that way i try the marker first.
My apologizes in advance if the above post makes no sense. I do that a lot.
