Warm Fuzzies
So I discovered a new coping skill that works really well and I'd like to share it with everyone.
When I'm feeling down, either me or a good friend will write a "warm fuzzy" on the part of my body I want to SI. I have them write in sharpie so it won't come off right away (but you can use other things if you don't want permanent marker on your skin) and I don't let myself read it until I'm having an urge. Then when an urge comes, I'll look at the warm fuzzy and it serves as a physical reminder that I matter, people love me, etc.
Then the idea came for me to start a warm fuzzy thread. I think it would be cool. If your feeling small, post here and request a "warm fuzzy", then you can write it on yourself (if you want). I want this thread to be a place to give and recieve warm fuzzies and hopefully bring a smile to everyone's face.

What a great idea! I'm actually feeling pretty good right now, so I don't need any warm fuzzies, but I wanted you to know that I liked your idea.

And it felt like a winter machine that you go through and then you catch your breath and winter starts again, and everyone else was springbound. And when I chose to live, there was no joy, it's just a line I crossed. I wasn't worth the pain my death would cost, so I was not lost or found....But when you live in a world, well, it gets in to who you th ought you'd be. And now I laugh at how the world changed me. I think life chose me after all.

I could use one too even though I've had a relatively good day, I'm still being kind of urgey and I don't like that... But I doubt any of you know me yet since I'm so new.

A warm fuzzy for Wizards?:
You are strong and you showed it by seeking out coping mechanisms like bus. You are stronger than you know! You are also unique for making a screen name with a question mark in it: that shows creativity! : )

You are brave to speak out and ask for help - especially in a new place. and your username is made of win! it makes me think of harry potter, which makes me happy. so seeing your username, seeing you around on here makes my day a bit brighter

I don't know how useful this is, but you can write on yourself with fabric paint. (aka puff paint.) It's nice because it's there, and you can feel the texture of it. It's also nice because you can just wash it off if you don't want marker on your skin. You can also pick it off, if you're feeling urgy. The one downside is you have to wait for it to dry, but it doesn't take too long. (and it speeds up if you use a hair dryer, fan, etc to dry it) And I'd try not to put it on places where it could smear on your clothes while you're waiting for it to dry.
I could use some warm fuzzies. I'm feeling pretty confused and unloved at the moment.
gretchen.
