Well, I've got some examples. They're things I do sometimes when I feel like hurting myself or get stressed out, but I can't tell if they're cheating and I'm actually SIing or if they're a valid coping method(however tentatively so).
First, when I get stressed or angry, I'll bite my lip. Never hard enough to draw blood, but as hard as I can without doing so. If they're chapped, I might stretch my lips until there's a crack and they bleed a little bit. Also, and this is kind of gross and embarrassing, I pick at my acne. If I really want to SI, like I do now, sometimes I'll rub the skin of my wrist against the edge of a table.
Could any of this be considered SI, and therefore maybe even a slip-up?
Is it coping? *SI*

only you can answer that if you're doing it deliberately because of the pain. perhaps try sticking your hands in ice water, as that'll feel painful but won't cause any damage, or there's other methods like that in the sourcebook or in stickys here
