soap carving...
anyone ever try soap carving? i'm reading a book where this girls T suggested that she try carving soap when she's urgy...anyone ever try it?

i've done that. and it was lots of fun. just be careful you don't breathe in too much soap while you do it. it makes for a BAD headache.

sounds like a nice idea - but probably not the best for me. I don't think I trust myself with a carving instrument when I'm feeling urgey; I just wouldn't want to risk it...

well if we're talking about soap here? right? you can use a butter knife. and nails and stuff for details. it doesn'T have to be anything overly sharp.

I haven't been able to think of what to carve the bar into. I keep lookin at it and all I see is....a bar. (just to clarify, I'm not sittin around staring at a bar of soap all day) lol It's just that my creativity isn't very good right now I guess. I know the point is just to carve at it, instead of myself, but it seems like my concentration on it would be greater if I had an end result in mind. What kinda stuff has anybody else carved?

i tried to carve a pig once because it was the first thing i looked at when i was looking for an idea. but ... it didn't turn out to be a pig in the end but a pretty cool looking bear. whatever works.
