Having toruble keeping safe

Post by silent_end » Mon Mar 10, 2008 3:55 am

I've been SI off and on for 4years now and even though I'm seeing a therapist i still get the urges to cut and most of the time i can ignore them but today i gave in. I've been having thoughts of suicide and I'm afraid that if i start cutting again I'm going to end up going to deep. Nothing seems to help with this, I've tried distracting myself I've tried doing others things that inflict pain but don't cause harm what do i do?

I'm looking through sourcebook and coping forum right now but most of it is information i already know from my therapist and nothing seems to work and i certainly don't want to go on medication partly b/c of side effects and partly because i don't want my parents to know and partly because I've seen what i can do once you are on it and I'm not willing to risk that I'll try anything first before that

Indeed disastercake, and also the scaringly vast list of coping strategies takes about 20 minutes to read and hey presto, you've distracted yourself for 20 minutes and maybe got some good distractions too :)
