Method i find to work *SI Trigs*

Post by WildChild101 » Wed Jan 02, 2008 4:49 am

I've just been cutting strips of paper with reasonably blunt scissors and im finding that really getting rid of urges. Dunno why but when youve done a fair bit you look at them and its wierd thinking that it would have been on your skin.
Thought i'd share it with you all, but i dont reccomend sharp scissors, or to do it at all if scissors make you urgy.

thanks for sharing!
i've torn up strips ofpaper before, too, which can be quite cathartic if i'm angry and want a physical sensation of 'breaking' something. (as long as it's nothing important that i'm tearing/scissoring up...)

Sometimes I find cutting into a plastic soda-bottle or something helps. Probably not good if holding a knife is a problem for you, but I always have one with me and I don't use it to SI (too dirty). Sometimes just tearing paper works too - preferably thick paper so you have to work a bit.

Yeah, i find that kind of thing helps,
But it is quite shocking when you're finished, and you see the damage done,
:-?

Yea, I have random knitting projects that I don't want to finish and I've found that, in the heat of the moment, taking my tool to those instead of me is a better thing to do and a "oh my gosh...my poor skin" sort of thing.
My apologizes in advance if the above post makes no sense. I do that a lot.
