bus eating posts

I'm not sure if this happens to everyone else, i know it happens to a couple of people though.
BUS seems to 'eat' parts of posts, especially quotes...is there a techy explanation for it/can it be solved or does it just happen?

I think your links are broken? I'm not seeing anything other than possible malformed quotes.

You can give a link to the precise post by looking at the info at the top like this:

I'm not very techie, but maybe the board thinks your < > are supposed to be commands? (like <quote> or so)

Oh btw, did you know you can link to specific posts? If you click on the little icon that looks like a paper next to "Posted: 24 October..." you'll get the link to the exact post (in the address field). Handy, huh?

Hope someone can shed some light on the eaten posts problem.

No, it didn't. But you could try going into your profile and clicking "disable html in my posts". THat might help. > and < are special characters in html.

and i cant do the specific post linkage thing either...i end up being taken to the same page in my place, just like when i try the links posted earlier...

Let me try again ... what I was trying to say was something like this:

You shouldn't have problems caused by the >_< face, unless it somehow gets run into HTML stuff ... such as if you wrote:

<b>_</b>

you would just get the middle bit bolded: _ and not have the little face.

It shouldn't be a problem with quotes thought because quotes use "[" and "]", not "<" and ">".

So let's hope that works this time ..

You should get taken to the same page. It won't look different. you'll still be on the page. The link should change though. For example, you gave the following link:

Clicking on the little note thing takes me to:

hmmm yeah...i get what you mean. html and bbcode using different characters...and it makes sense that >_< shouldnt make a difference.
and seeing as its only sometimes and not all the time...im not really sure.

thats that bit solved...

i changed the settings in my profile to not allow html, but it hasnt changed any of the old stuff [not sure if it should] so i guess its just a matter of waiting to see if it happens again
