how do you make a hyperlink? i'm slightly technically challenged there. and how do you choose font color and all that stuff?

Random Weirdness
when you write or reply to a post all the tags and font colour etc are just after the "subject" line and before the box where you type your post.
colour, font size etc can be added in a post by highlighting the text to be changed and clicking one of the buttons or menus.
the actual code (for typing into a sig for example), is something like...

there could be an official post about bbcode somewhere but i thought i'd answer here anyway. hope this helped.
