OT laptop question

My mum is wondering about laptop comps and if she were to (hypothetically) buy a MAC laptop, could she still use Word to type documents that could be readable by ppl with PCs? She wants to be able to burn a CD with document(s) and send them to ppl to access on their puters.

Yes, Office exists for the Mac, and if she doesn't want to use that then there is a free replacement available called NeoOffice.
