Tips on coping with the death of a family member
Is there any dang way to cope with the death of a child? My niece passed away recently and I am just swimming with greif. I cant function and all I do is cry. How do you deal with the death of a child????

That is absolutely awful, I am so sorry.
I have a really hard time coping with loss. It's just something that is completely beyond my understanding and I find it *really* hard coming to terms with it. Perhaps consider grief counselling?
I don't know what else to tell you except that it is going to be awfully painful for you and your family and.. basically just let yourself feel whatever it is you're feeling, and know that eventually it will feel less bad.
It's also a good thing to "say goodbye" in some way. Going to the funeral, or having a memorial in her honour, and that sort of thing can help people move on. There's also a "Tribute" thread at the top of the expressions forum if you want to take a look at it.
You could perhaps do something like organising or helping out with a fundraiser or something. I had a friend die from suicide and I helped raise money for a prevention organisation. I like to think that although I couldn't help her anymore, I could help someone else.
