my escape...whats yours?

tips on how to cope: dealing with your feelings, dealing with the consequences of self-harm in your life. share your ideas and maybe pick up some new skills, too. you don't have to want to stop to learn something new here.

my escape...whats yours?

Post by riseagainst » Mon Apr 23, 2007 5:55 am

is there anything that you love so much that whenever your doing it everything just melts away and its just you and it nothing else is wrong in the world?
for me that is graffiti/painting whenever i have a spraycan in my hand theres nothing else going on everythign is perfect its just me and the wall i love it more than anything in the world, its the one time im actually happy ill be in a really shitty mood and and go paint and for the rest of the day i feel good, its a way to leave my mark when im gone someone will see it and remember me its a way to open peoples eyes to the world around them its a rush better than drugs i know this all sounds wierd but its my escape its the one thing in life i actually care about and i dont everr plan to quit

what do you guys do to escape?
any other fans of graffiti out there? haha

Hya,

I've never done graffitti art myself (mainly because i have NO artisitc talent and NO guts!) but some of it i think is pretty cool. Have you heard of a guy called Banksy? He does some ace stuff over here in the uk. He's based in Bristol, but he's done stuff all over. His stuff is now considered art, even by the officials and it doesnt get painted over (at least, only by accident by council employees who dont know any better!).

I don't think i have any thing that i can emerse myself in like it sounds you can with the graffitti art. I wish i did, then i'd do that!

that's a cool escape. i'd do that if i had an iota of artistic talent.
there is, in the end, the letting go.

i think of reading as my main escape. you can go anywhere you want with a book. just pick the type of book that matches how you are feeling and imagine whatever the book is describing. it is great!

another great escape is walking. nothing but me and the sounds and feeling of nature all around me. i get lost in where i am. the sights and sounds take over and transport to a place much safer than the world that i inhabit.

My escape is cuddling with a very old stuffed rabbit named Bunner.
My life is empty without my Jossee.

this is going to sound weird but laughing. when im laughing (for real) there is nothing else in the world. I subcounciously think, have I ever even been sad in my life? It just feels timeless and limitless like being free or the wind in your face.

I like art of most types. I find it engrosing enough to distrat me from life. My faiverate mediam at the moment is ink and dip-pens. Doing bead-work's good too.

Never done graphiti myself, but I always uest to love looking at it on the suports of a bridge I kyaked under weekly. They had some really good stuff under there.

i love to read, and i'll just sit there for hours reading a book that interest me (i could never really find time to read the books i'm assigned though...). also another thing that i sometimes use as an escape is photography, sometimes digitally, but mostly with film and then living in the dark room trying to adjust color levels and light levels until you get it looking just right. time becomes slippery and hours disappear.

I've been skipping around for the past few years, but I'd have to say at this moment my escapes are marathoning anime and gaming, i could get lost in gaming for hours on end...13 hours :o
This is the road that I have created for myself to ride, and now it has come to an END. So now i sit at roads end and stare into the enless distance waitng for a new road to appear before me.

I'm into photography, I can say way more with pictures than I ever could with words. I feel at peace when taking pictures.
