Really annoying error

Post by pretty » Sat Apr 21, 2007 12:52 pm

"You cannot make another post with the exact same text as your last."

But I'm getting it in a *different thread* to my last post. If it was the same thread and it was telling me not to double post, fine, but it's shouting at me for not knowing what to post in peoples places and trying to post the same thing twice.

Humph.

Interestingly I know at least one person dearly beloved by all who managed to double post in spite of that. :)

I think it's to reduce spam (they can't post the same text all over the board) and to prevent double posting in the same thread.

I usually just add a space or something. Or, (and here's an excuse ), change the punctuation to be wrong.

If in doubt, don't

I tried adding spaces and it didn't work. All I wanted to post was :wavey: I had to actually think of words though. Humph.

I'm not sure I could stand posting with punctuation I knew to be wrong. If I don't notice it's wrong, that's fine, but if I knew... *cold sweat*

I don't like it when the board is cleverer than me, I think that's what it comes down to

You could alternate.

':wavey:' in one

':star: *reading*' in the other

It's probably a good thing, because it forces me to think of *something* to say. Creative ways of outwitting bus are always welcome though.
