then i went to another thread and tried to post that same emoticon again.. and this came up:
You cannot make another post with the exact same text as your last.
first of all, this makes no sense. second of all, i've done it before. what's going on?

If you have the exact same text that's what happens, i think it was something deb put in place a while ago to prevent spamming. I overcome it by just adding an extra 'space' in the post.
I always worry that i talk nonsense in these threads and i've 'made up' my 'facts' so i will add my usually disclaimer: "Though i could be wrong"

the same thing happens to me,
sometimes what i post in my place thread i need to post in the main board too, and i have to add something else to the post , cause it gives me the same message as you.
what is up with that? cause it didnt used to be that way in the past. why now?

Spammers often create several posts with the same text. This reduces the amount of spam we get on the boards before an admin is around to splat it. Some email providers enforce the same restriction. And on the "not looking stupid front", it prevents people inadvertently double posting.
A minor change like adding or removing your name should fix it without too much hassle.
