Email notifications

Post by jo_alone » Thu Sep 21, 2006 12:33 am

Anyone else losing most of their notifications on a daily basis? I know I am and I've seen a few people do the "evil lack of notifications" posts in people's places and such :wink:

Is there any particular reason or anything we can do personally?

I'm finding I have to go and "stop watch" and then "watch this" topic numerous times every day.

Is it just watched threads, or does it affect pm notifications?

I'm still getting pm notifications as normal. But I don't watch many threads so I don't know about those.

I've been getting email notifications that say;
The original message contained a virus. The virus has been cleaned. You may want to notify the sender of the virus.
I've been getting them for here and the ombuds area too. :-?

That wasn't fair. You stunned me with a strut. :o

I'm still getting email notifications containing viruses. Does Deb know about this?

Also, quite often I don't get notifications till hours and hours later. Whatever is in the system is really running a mok. A herd of them, probably.

Clearly something strange is going on.

But don't forget, antivirus programs like giving spurious warnings cos it makes them look clever and useful. (When using a windoze machine, Norton: We've just blocked an attempt to change your homepage! Me: Yes, I was attempting to change it. :evil:)

Laura :geek: <---I use a mac and never have viruses.

just to add something here...
i had 74 email notifications this morning, and i only watch about 30 threads :o
they were all timed at a few minutes before or after 3.34am GMT, before that, my last one was at 17.37pm GMT

oddness... :roll:
