Internet monitoring programs

Post by sassy koala » Fri Aug 11, 2006 8:14 pm

Not exactly a BUS question, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any reasonably priced decent internet monitoring programs for personal computers. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

what do you mean by "monitoring"? like a content filter? or a way to figure out inbound/outbound connections...?

I would question the legality of such software. However they might be able to point you in the right direction at http://community.livejournal.com/ask_me_anything

It's for home use, so I can't imagine there would be a whole lot of legal issues with it.

ah, okay.

norton internet security has parental controls - from what it says on the symantec.com product page, it includes a blocker for objectionable sites, but says nothing about tracking where people go online (although i'd imagine it would have such a thing.)

besides that and probably aol's internal controls (that is, if you use aol), i would have no idea. perhaps do a search at download.com or sourceforge / versiontracker?

talking hasn't done anything. It's been discussed over and over.
I haven't decided to do anything yet though, just am looking at options.

before you install a keylogger, have a good idea what you will do if your suspicions are confirmed.
