what does ump mean? like when someone says it in a thread? :o


i guess i'm the only person who doesn't know what this means

Like that? If that's what you're wondering about, 'bumping' a topic that way causes the thread to return to the top of the board it's posted on. People do it as a way to encourage more people to read or reply to the original thread. On a busy board, topics can get shoved down and off the page really quickly. Bumping a thread is a way for people to keep their threads from being buried too quickly.

ohh!! thats a good idea. how do you bump though? do board monitors move it up? or do people just keep reading it?

Just replying to a thread will ump it up. A lot of people just reply with saying ump so it'll move up to the top.

just to say though, to bump something all the time, that is still not getting responses can be annoying as it pushes active threads off the board.

Use the bump wisely for it has great power
