well, it's dying a death

i have no idea, but all i know is this:

it takes 5 minutes to load a page
none of the avatars are showing up
threads are being discombobulated because of the slow loading time (things won't show up - and i'm on dsl - or things are getting mashed)
and it's really hard to not double/triple post.

bus is running (at the moment) at normal speed for me altho it wasn't earlier. but the avatars are still missing.

hmmmm. it is dying a bit... i maintain that doing some serious clearing or archiving will make it faster!!!

Had all avatars/nice piccies, but it was taking 5/10 mins to move from one forum to another... and I had a major argument with my son about him (not) using all our "internet space" on downloading stuff...

On the bright side, it seems pretty "fixed" now.

right now its running ok in terms of speed but a lot of people's avatars still don't exist, its disconcerting

I don't think any of them exist. If you clear your temporary internet files and refresh, they vanish.

seems to be loading up faster but no avatars. Probably there needs to be some siggy clearing up and archiving some old posts on bus.

i made a horrible mistake (it's complicated, but basically i didn't realize two things were linkde). i'll restore what i can from home, and if we have backups of the system we should be able to get almost all of them back.

i really suck. i'm incredibly sorry about this.

Thanks Deb, like Forget Me said, we can see the posts and can post so that is the most important thing. I hope we can get the avatars back though, because its a bit confusing telling who is who without them
