my computer has no sound

Post by swanfaerie » Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:03 pm

help please...

i tho't my speakers died, so i got new speakers. everything's plugged in. the volume on media player is on 100, i cranked the volume on the new speakers to max, i made sure that media player wasn't on mute, but still no volume.

all the help links on media player are about downloading, ripping, burning, etc. i just want the d*** volume back on my speakers.

can anyone help? i have a PC running under mozilla, with windows XP. not sure what else i need to tell you. even my kids (11 & 17) didn't know how to fix this. *sigh*

Did you make sure your system volume isn't on mute?

If so..perhaps it's your sound card.

omg i remember having this problem. drove me bonkers, couldnt find out the problem... till i un muted media player! LOL. I hope you figure out your problem. Try going through several programs that have muting capabilities. Also check in settings and see if you can test your soundcard.
