When I try to log out....
I get THIS. For a couple of days now.
phpBB : Critical Error
Error obtaining user details
DEBUG MODE
SELECT * FROM phpbb_users WHERE user_id = -1
Line : 455
File : sessions.php
Does it matter, why does it happen, is it messing with my computer or my posts on bus, and am I still "secure"?
Advice apprecicated.

Same thing is happening to me and tons of threads aren't working, my place has two empty pages, topics don't exist, etc.

Glad it's not only me, Stella!
It doesn't affect the way bus *works* for me very much. But it's still happening, and it worries me as it mentions error obtaining user details - as I share a pc, obviously "safety" and confidentiality are major concerns....

I get it too. I don't share my computer, so I rarely attempt to log out. It was a bit disconcerting to find that I couldn't.

Maunally (heh) log out by clearing cookies, cache and history. That oughta log you out if the normal way doesn't log out.
BUS is not working for me well *at all*. It still doesn't think that I exist, has lost my settings and notes about three times now, and I can't reply to anything in Place or RW without it telling me that things do not exist.
What I thought was originally a browser problem is not ;_;

Well just imagine you DO share your computer Laura - and not only you're a mod (confidential enough to start with) but your daughter, when around, also uses said computer to access her OWN account on bus... This is why I'm concerned.Laura wrote:I don't share my computer, so I rarely attempt to log out. It was a bit disconcerting to find that I couldn't.
I don't really mind not being able to log out, if you shut down the pc it should happen automatically - I'm just wondering how safe this is, if I ever forget to shut down after I've been online....

Hmm, that seems to work for me, though I had to hit "refresh" a couple of times before I got to the BUS index with me logged out. Hopeful?amyfairy wrote:hmm i've been getting that too
but if i refresh the page
i appear logged out
Totally understand the security & confidentiality issues. I remember after the hacker thing I got paranoid that one of my flatmates could go into my room and read my stuff or abuse my BUS account (not that they would) so I set my computer to need a password even from sleep or screensaver. Which was a pain indeed.

Thanks you Laura and amyfairy!
I tried that out - yeah, it does appear to be logging me out, despite the weird error message! Phew!!

I'm also getting that message when I log out, but if I go back to BUS, I am in fact logged out, so I haven't been worrying about it

Whatever it was, is fixed. *Triumph*
I can now log out. Am actually wondering - am a bit shamefaced here - if any of it was due to my son downloading the entire Chronicles of Narnia onto his pc? Though of course, he's now downloading sth else, but for the couple of hours he wasn't, I logged out 2wice and it went fine... Bliss.
