Why do I feel I need to hurt myself? What has brought me to this point?

I have too much going on in my head. it hurts and exam stuff is getting to me a lot as in Im convinced I will fail

Have I been here before? What did I do to deal with it? How did I feel then?

yes. I slept. played on bus. cut, when i distracted my slef I felt good eventually but when i cut i got all guilt and it made me worse

What I have done to ease this discomfort so far? What else can I do that won't hurt me?

played on games, speant half my night on bus and other places, tried to talk to people on msn. I could cry

How do I feel right now?

really deprressed and low. I want to cry. I cant cope

How will I feel when I am hurting myself?

relief. calmness

How will I feel after hurting myself? How will I feel tomorrow morning?

imeadiatly (sp?) calm, clear headed. tomorrow bloody awful

Can I avoid this stressor, or deal with it better in the future?

Hi Amerylis.

I am really glad that you recognize that you do not need to hurt yourself.

that is a really important realization to make, and a hard one too.

Exams are extremely stressful, but you can make it through them without harming yourself.

It sounds like you need something to calm you down now. Have you looked on coping? There are a lot of good suggestions on there--my favorite is playing with play-doh. Try some of them, even if they sound far fetched. they might work.
