Sometimes I do that, I just want cake or chocolate or brownies and if we don't have any I'll try and make some

I enjoy cooking like that, so it can be a perfect thing to do when feeling down. And, as you say, there is good yummy things for after, or if you're not up to eating them there are always people who are willing to accept home baked goodies.

Yeah, I do that sometimes too, I did it a couple of days ago infact. Really helps, unless I feel like i'm going to be triggered easily :-?

I haven't baked in ages (I think it would burn cause of all the interruptions) but this post makes me want to. I also like baking cause when you have finished you have made something (which never lasts long though)

oh yeah, baking is the best. particularly baking bread, because you get to punch the crap out of the dough, which always makes me feel better.

glad you have a good distraction!!

Wow! I do this a lot and had no idea others baked for coping. :)

Sadly, I lose interest in the food immediately after making it and end up either throwing it out or giving it away....

baking bread is especially good cause you have to knead it so much and you can punch it :D

Baking is a great distraction from immediate feelings - often if i start to feel down or out of control following the logical clear chocolate brownie instructions can be really soothing ( also the recipe never ever fails!)
i thought i was a weirdo for baking lots of stuff when i felt down but it looks like lots of others do it too.
its good to offer to people afterwards too, being generous and the appreciation of other people can really give you a boost...

I do that too

I bake and then proceed to eat all of what I made, which has been know to include two large cakes. I also clean. I clean everything, everywhere, when I get really down. Everything has to be just so.
