There was a recent thread ideas for coping whilst in a foreign country that might be useful for you.

I'm not sure what sort of ideas you're looking for... coping with SI urges or feeling down? something else?

sorry I should have been clearer. When Im at home if I want to si I ring friends. come on bus try everything to distract me because I want to keep my days. but while away none of the normal avenues are open to me and especially as I will be with my family I am likely to get triggered.

I know that on the bus board and the broader bus website there are lists of ideas for distracting yourself. I would suggest that you take a look at those and maybe even print them off to pack with you as reference.

I don't know about you, but I often get comfort in writing my feelings out. Maybe you could pick up a notebook and keep it as a travel journal for the days you are away. It does not even have to be only dedicated to distraction. You could write about the good days as well as the bad.

I know that's not really the best answer I could give you, but its a start.

Sorry I could not be more helpful.
