There have been a fair few threads on emergency boxes before, a search through the coping board should find some posts with ideas in them.
What is of comfort to people varies widely. Think about what helps YOU when you're down. Which senses do you respond to most? If you're a tactile (touch) person perhaps you need to have things with different textures. If you're a smell person, some nice lotions or bubble baths could be better. Music. Things to play with or do. Letters or cards from friends. Posts from bus that have helped you. Whatever means something to you.
I hope you have fun making it. Good luck

Just put things in it that will distract you when you want to SI, and things that comfort you. Some people also choose to keep thier tools hidden in the bottom of their emergency box so that if they want thier tools they have to look through thier emergency box first but that can sometimes be counter-productive it really depends on the person whether its helpful or not.
Mine has:
My emergency book, which has coping strategies, lyrics, inspirational quotes and messages ive written to myself and i decorate it with stickers and pictures.
Emergency Letters- letters that Ive asked people to write that will cheer me up when im sad and then im not allowed to read them except in an emergency
A winnie the pooh stuffed toy to cuddle and a toy cow that my busser friend Mog sent me
A small box with tickets, photos, postcards etc, that remind me of good memories
Letters from friends (mainly friends from BUS)
LOTS of stickers, postcards, images i like etc
Henna kit
Chocolate
A sketch book for drawing and making collages
