i never remember that i have a box!

Post by PassingCloud » Thu Jun 16, 2005 4:00 pm

hey, anybody got any suggestions how i can in bad times remind myself that i got an emergency box?? i can't seem to remember whenever i am feeling REALLY low. i have it sitting right here next to the puter now since i kept forgetting about it when it was somewhere else, stowed away. but even now - i never think about opening it or even look at it when i am close to SIing. i would really like to see myself as fully recovered soon - but at the moment i am still a "long time without it with a few slips in between" type person. i don'T want to SI anymore, and don't want to go that far and still i never remember all the good coping mechanisms when it gets too bad...

grr... it's frustrating. anybody know what i could do?

i'm the same - mine sits there collecting dust

i've read some people on here saying that they actually keep their tools at the very bottom of their emergency box, which sounds kind of weird at first, but it means that to get to them you *have* to get the box out and take out all the happy comforting stuff....which might remind you to use it. not tried it myself, but sounds like quite a cool idea to me...

enuomia said, you could keep the tools on the bottom of the box.

Or you can wrote yourself a sticky note, and put it near your tools, or on a mirror, or a wall in your room. Just something random and you'll know what It means. It's a way to remind you without having anyone else need to know what you mean by the random sticky notes.

ive got a little note in with my tools
it just says *have you really done everything else* in little letters
if i think i have then i let myself si, if i can think of anything else to cope then ill try to do that first
(course it doesnt always work but sometimes it does)
