overlapping text on Quidditch

Post by Laura » Sat Apr 30, 2005 7:49 pm

Is it just me, or on Quidditch do you sometimes find that the text of a persons number of posts and location is overlapping with their avatar?
Not all the time, or not every post, but on a long thread some people overlap and some don't.
It's not causing a problem, it's just weird.

happening for me in subsilver, too. I hadn't mentioned it becaues I figured it was some weird glitch ..
laura, you also use a mac, don't you?
do you use safari?
maybe it's something with how safari (or other mac broswers) display the board?

dunno.

Yes I use Safari too,, so it might be something like that.

Do you not find that if you use subsilver, Safari gets freaked out by all the animated gifs, especially when viewing Place where every thread is "popular"? It's a known issue, although perhaps how annoyingly loud the freaking out is depends on your machine.

I haven't noticed it from the animated gifs in the board stuff... my computer profoundly dislikes it when people post pages of millions of moving smilies (I mean like .. millions, not like when there are 5 or 6).
But I have never noticed freakouts from viewing the forums.
Ummmmmm hm. I've got a powerbook from 2001 .. so it's not super-new or anything, but I've also got a super-fast internet connection, because I'm at school. No clue which might have more bearing.

The overlapping text thing happens to me too (& I use safari as well). :)

I'm using subsilver, which is what I've always used, but it's only been happening recently - & I don't know why it wouldn't have happened before if it was a problem with safari.

well, the board has been through some changes lately, so I would guess that something is a bit different than it was before, and that it doesn't agree with safari.

it's not a problem for me, it only happens once in a while, and it doesn't cause issues with me being able to see or understand anything.
