themes installed
i've installed the final choices for themes. some of it was constrained by what was available and what would be compatible with this version of the board software.
i've uninstalled darksky because i got a lot of complaints about it.
the final list of available themes:
Access
Chrome_ex
Diddle
Quidditch
subBlack
subSilver
subza
I tried to balance dark and light, and have one colorful theme (people seemed to want one).

Thank you, deb
I really like both chrome ex and subblack .. so I'm actually considering switching from subsilver

you know, i don't even know what Quidditch looks like, but it really makes me smile that it's a theme title. (*Dobby voice* Harry Potter must come look at the new BUS themes! one is titled in his honor, sir! Hooray!)
thanks, deb.

Thanks Deb! You're amazing.

but it's a lot harder than it looks because even though
they had the same size feet as us, they weren't looking
down the whole time while they walked to make sure
they were doing it right.

'tis very very very purple, of the dark variety. I think it's fun to check them all out ..fire.bird wrote:[tangent]

I'm using chrome ex now .. and I like it .. but I just realized that it does *not* give pop-ups for new PM's, even if you have the box checked
(that's not fix-able, is it?)

I have only a vague inkling that Quidditch has something to do with Harry Potter (about whom I know virtually nothing)... but I'm using it cos it doesn't have those wretched animated popular post things that make my computer get noisily over-excited
It is indeed very purple.

"Quiddich" is the name of a game played in the books, it has a few different balls, and positions to be played, etc. and takes place on flying broomsticks.Laura wrote:I have only a vague inkling that Quidditch has something to do with Harry Potter

I don't know why it has a board theme named after it .. or why that theme happens to be purple ..

Prox, when I was living in Japan, they were all wild on Harry Potter, and the merchandise sold there always had the same purple theme going (the packaging that is) as the Quidditch board does... I bought a few Harry Potter things over there
I haven't seen any packaging for Harry Potter products in Australia tho, so I'm not sure about other countries...

Purple is kind of a stereotypical "wizardy" color. Not that I read much fantasy or anything...

Not that this is related, but I like your new avatar, Chimera! Maybe it's not that new but it's new to me...I haven't been around for awhile.

Thanks Deb
I'm in a whiney mood, so I'm gonna have a mini whine, if that's ok. There are two dark themes, Quidditch and SubBlack. In Quiddditch the columns on the index page are really off. The column with Mod names in takes about half the screen, and the column with the actual forum descriptions in gets all squished and hard to read. SubBlack has gold in, I can't stand gold. So I'm sticking with SubSilver. I'm not online long enough these days for headaches to be a huge issue, so it's ok. I'm just whining.
It's early. I have 1200 words to write before the end of the day on something I'm growing to have no interest in. So maybe I'm just feeling whiney. Apologies. Feel free to ignore me
