is it possible to be blocked from BUS voluntarily? Not just yet, but soon I shall have to write my thesis and I'm totally crap at staying away from BUS. I know that this is really something I should deal with myself/will power ets, but I just think it would be useful (got about another month to go until I actually start writing it)
Also, would if I were blocked from my uni flat, would I still be able to get access in the university library? Because that would mean I'd have to get up, walk there etc etc. Just an idea I've been mulling around for a few days, and wanted to see if it would be possible. (if it is, don't block me just yet!)

I think we definitely don't want to go too far down this road. Blocking shared computers especially, cos someone else might access BUS that way.
If it's your workplace, it might be something your sysadmin can do, no? And if you don't want your sysadmin to know that you might read BUS... well that may be a sign that it's not ok to do that, so you can use it to increase your self-discipline...

No big deal, just wondered.
My IT people can see everywhere I go so it's not like they don't know I go to bus a lot already; they just happen to be remarkably discreet people.
However, if I requested that my access be blocked, they would have to do it 'officially'.
What I don't want is for self harm to be something linked with me in my manager's and colleagues minds, which is what would happen if I requested my access to a self harm site be blocked. I have a line manager who doesn't know the meaning of 'off limits' and would interrogate me about it endlessly.
Yeah, you're right, it's about self discipline that I don't have, which is why I wondered about this. But never mind.
