just something i discovered a few moments ago. i'm currently ploughing my way through an essay on socialism. i was beginning to feel utterly hopeless and ready to give it all up and go off and cry, when i decided to turn my little orangey lamp light on.
bizarrely enough, it perked me up so much having light on my face and not just the dull glow of the computer screen. and i know when i get low, it's all i can do to move, let alone get some help, so maybe in future i'll attempt to turn lots of lights on, just as a small help. i hadn't realised how depressing this time of year is, when all there is in daytime is greyish halflight, and the sun's already going down at three.
so yeah. turn lights on. small, but it might work.
a small idea?

Demidevine,
I'm totally with you on lights. When it's gray and overcast, it's just miserable. Having lots of bright lights helps me tons. I also like to get a pot of forced bulbs - tulips / hychinths etc. because they're so bright and cheerful and remind me that spring will get here eventually.

yeah i know what you mean...i can't work without my desklamp.
i have a 100-watt bulb in a 60-watt lamp...is that bad? but i wanted it BRIGHT to cheer me up.
i also find it helps to work so that i'm not looking at a wall. i moved my workspace so that i'm looking out into the vastness of our extra kitchen...and gradually taking over three rooms as a 'study spot'. and my house isn't that big...i'm taking over a third of the house...

Lights
Hey totally agreeing with you. The grey sky doesn't exactly make me feel happy... something else is the cold... I find I'm alot happier with the heat jacked up... but that's just me
I tried to be perfect,
It just wasn't worth it...
It just wasn't worth it...
