Does anyone have any tips on how to cope with feeling guilty or being made to feel guilty by others?

Guilt is a really bad feeling -- I hate it too.

Basically the only way around it I use is I just try to take my mind off it. It's very difficult sometimes, but I use the same sorts of distractions as I use if I have an urge/if I feel down.

I'm so sorry you feel bad/guilty... **Hugs and comforts**

well sometimes when you feel guilty it isn't really your fault...so just reminding yourself that it isn't your fault would help...

I wonder how many people are saying "fine" when they're not.

I think that from now on I'm going to look a little bit deeper...because I'm not the only one.

I hope I’m not oversimplifying what you are experiencing, but—to my mind:
• In regards to coping with guilty feelings: You are the one who decided to interpret whatever in such a way so as to believe that you should feel guilty in the first place. Might your “guilt” ultimately be unfounded?
• Regarding others making you feel guilty: I don’t think there is such a thing. No one can “make” you feel guilty; as I said above, if you are feeling guilty, then its something (again, IMO) that you are doing to yourself
