BBCode in sigs

I just tried to edit my sig - just change wording, not formatting, but it wouldnt let me. it said:

"Your signature is not valid.
You have used this(these) forbidden BBCode(s): [color]"

BBCode is switched off in my profile and i'm not sure how to turn it back on...
also, the pre-existing formatting is working :-?
i think other members are having similar problems

any advice?

the board is undergoing some big time maintenance right now, so there's a lot of stuff that's really iffy on use.

it's probably best that we hold off on changing sigs and the like for a while until the board is fully functional.
there is, in the end, the letting go.
