weird avatar thing

what does it mean when it looks like this:

because I've been getting these a lot (with other people's too, not just mine) ... and I don't know how to fix it.

if it's relevant - I'm a mac user, I'm using safari as my browser, currentl.

I get that a lot - also using Safari on a mac. I think it's been posted before around here somewhere.

Dunno what you can do about it... I just take the ostrich approach.

hm weird, thats never happened to be before, but i have a PC running IE, so thats prolly the reason. :-?
