I'm cheating on the 8 line limit by putting some things on the same line and spacing them with a <p>.

However, for my [kc] and [dino j], I just want to space with a <br> so they'll just be on the bottom instead of the big space.

I can't figure out how to do this. If I use <br>, it shows up in the sig, as does [br].

I'm confused. Help?

Forget the html and just do an enter, and it should work fine

This is because <br> isn't one of the allowed html tags.

But if I do an Enter it's too many lines.

What if you use the < p > between things, and the enter's within the quote & reference ?

Then your signature is too long... there's a reason that the line limit is there, and trying to get around it using HTML isn't gonna make it any shorter.

but yeah, please try to be judicious in your use of it. the length isn't as much of an issue as huge images are.

Do you think it is? It's just two quotes, a imood and a counter (which I can take out).

Honestly, I'll shorten it if you guys really think it's too long.

Kurdt's sig isn't long. I don't see her as abusing the sig limit by getting around it with HTML tags.
If someone was actually abusing it, it's look more like:

e
v
e
r
y

b
o
d
y

v
i
s
i
t

m
y

s
i
t
e
!

and so forth.

Kurdt's sig actually takes up LESS space than many sigs do .. hell, I think it takes less space than mine. It's just how she happens to want hers formatted.
My sig doesn't go over the line limit, but it's big. hers does go over the limit but it's small.
it's all relative.

I'm more worried about monster pics in sigs ;)

Ok, I'll concede that one I guess :P

In my defense, I'm a recovering network admin, where I had a policy of never giving in to anything without a really good reason :P

at the moment, he has no choice because my office and computer aren't set up yet. but he made me my own account and he tries not to pay attention to me doing stuff on it. i think it makes him twitchy.

on the other hand, he often tells me exactly how i should be doing things on my machine and why i'm all wrong.

And when someone asks you "how do I get to the internet" ... ouch ouch ouch.
