I've had notifications turned off for a long while...but randomly last night I received one..and I checked my profile and it said notifications were still off...any reason behind this..or just a random blip?

No reason that I know of - if you get another give us a shout, but otherwise I guess it's a random bug.

Do you mean it sent you an email to say you had a new pm? Or a new reply on a thread? Or what?

There are some things it will always notify you by email - eg being granted usergroup membership. And it will notify you if you are "watching a topic" even if you have notifications off. But I take it this is something different from what you're getting?

OK. Unfortunately since the upgrade the link that would list for you all the topics you were watching has gone. But if you go to the thread it says you are watching, do you find a little link (bottom left in DarkSky) that says something like "Stop watching this topic"? Or does it say "Watch this topic for replies" like it does on every thread that you aren't watching? If the former, your problem is solved :D
