Strange pop-ups

Post by strmdncr » Thu Feb 06, 2014 4:15 am

Wondering if anyone else is suddenly getting strange pop-up type screens due to highlighted words in people's posts and hovering over it with the mouse?

Never had this happen before - figured I'd check here to see if it's something new related to keeping the site running or I've managed to pick up some weird tracker/cookie/virus (not sure what) thing.

Probably you have picked up a bad cookie or a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) from somewhere, especially if "Text Enhance" appears in the pop-ups. It is not malware but it is annoying.

This link has step-by-step instructions for getting rid of it: http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-text-enhance/ .
