Is it BUS or Firefox? characters don't work.
And, of course, having posted this, I now find that my ' and my / and various other things that give me problems normally when posting, are working fine.
It's not a new problem, it's happened may times before. (and, having written that sentence with 2 apostrophes, it's now proving in front of the world that it doesn't actually happen.
Hmmm. Anyone got any idea what's going on, and how I can stop it next time?

I get a little pink message box on the toolbar below my main screen, saying what I've written, but without the offending characters. And it won't let me write what comes up in the pink box on my post. It's happened before, and cleared up before. But when it's happening, I get very frustrated. Specially since, as a mod, I sometimes need to reply to stuff quickly, and doing that without 's and /s can be a bit tricky!

What your describing appears to be a known bug with Firefox.
I found this link (but am to tired to read it atm).

I don't know if it helps. I'll be online again tomorrow evening.

Yes, exactly like that! I also will look in the morning - I'm off to bed now, and I need "brains" to attempt to understand computery stuff. Thanks mithz. I'll get back to you once I've read and tried to comprehend!

I got it, thanks mithz. The only thing is, I'm a bit wary of doing stuff on the computer (especially as it's my son's ). Well, at least I know it's Firefox not bus now, and when he gets home again, I can point him at your link and let him loose on the details, I guess! Until then, as it only happens intermittently, I suppose if people get strangely-worded replies from me, I can tell them it's a Firefox glitch.
Thanks for you help, link, time etc. I really appreciate it. Maybe if I have a very "confident" day, I'll have a go myself!
