Lately I've had to log into bus almost every time I visit. Before, it was automatic, but now it doesn't even seem to accept it when I check that button. I know I haven't fiddled around, so anyone have any clues?
Also, smilies have stopped being animated!

I know that once you click a smiley in the preview box, all those stop animating. can't think of any other reason that they might.
And no idea on the other problem either. Can you try clearning the cache and histpry etc see if that works?

Not a half-bad idea! But it didn't work
With the smilies, I mean they won't animate in posts or anything either. Like the sheep in my signature? It's not bouncing for me. But with some other people, their's are animated. Majorly strange...

Hve you introduced any new programmes such as a firewall ont your computer? I know that sometimes that jiggers up settings such as staying logged onto things for some reason.
Also, if you've been playing around with your history or deleting cookies it changes it.

Nope, no new programs (that I know of

), and I also cleared all my history now. I use adaware, and it removes some stuff, but it's never been like this before.

If your history is all cleared, and you don't change anything on it for now- does it work now?
(Sorry, that sentence was very badly worded. I'll pretend for now that English is not my native language

Yeah history is cleared, but it still doesn't work. I think I'll try defragmentation, a reboot, and some scanning
edit: argh still doesn't work

could it be to do with cookies? Check your computer is allowing you to save cookies. If it doesn't the computer 'forgets' or something!
I'm crap at technical stuff but it might work!

Have you changed the security level that you're running on Internet Explorer (or the program you are running)? It might be rejecting the cookies.

Yeah I've checked with the cookies and everything, but nothing

But cookies shouldn't stop the emoticons from freezing, right? This is so odd...

That happend to me...check if you're blocking ads at all....I am running Zone Alarm Pro 4.0 and I had it blocking animated ads...emoties fall under the category of things it blocks...you may want to check that out.

Angela, I think you need to switch ad-blocking off!
