Is it just me - words appearing as hotlinks?

This just started happenning to me today, so I'm not sure if it's BUS or something wrong with my computer - I did run a complete virus scan, and it says my computer is clean. I'm seeing random words in messages appearing in orange and underlined, and when I click on them, an ad pops up?

Did you recently download something that may have had a search bar or other search function attached to it? If you did you may not even know. I had that problem a while ago and went through programs and got rid of a bunch of stuff. I would check your programs first. Also, what browser are you using?

No problems here with either Chrome or Firefox running under Windows 7 Pro.

A quick consultation with Dr Google suggests that you might have picked up a bad cookie from somewhere, especially if "Text Enhance" appears in the ads that you are seeing.

It took me some time, but finally disabling a couple of add-on's that had been downloaded when I installed Firefox, fixed the problem.

Computers... love 'em, hate 'em.
