Hi all,
everyone here has the option to choose an avatar

~ so what is an avatar?
It's that little picture you get below your name (mine is the 'yin-yang' type symbol I made).

~ How do I get one?
You can access these by clicking "show gallery" at the bottom of your profile and going through the folders till you find one you like. Click the little dot below the picture and then click the "select avatar" button.

~ What about the reserved folders?
All avatars in these fodlers have been submitted by other board members and are reserved for *their use only!* If you didn't submit this avatara, please *don't use it!* We can check this.

~ What if I really like a reserved avatar?
Sorry, but you still can't use it. Someone here has sent that picture in specifically for themselves, and it would be really disrespectful to that person to use it without their permission.

~ How do I reserve my own avatar?
Send an e-mail to 'avatars@busmail.org' along with your bus ID (eg. discarded - thats me) and attach the image you want as your avatar, or the web adress where we can find it.

~ How do I attach the image?
Send us an e-mail telling us what type of mail service your using (eg. yahoo, hotmail, busmail) and we'll send you back the instructions.

~ Someone's using my reserved avatar. What can I do?
Send a message to the current 'avatar wrangler' - at the moment thats me (discarded) and state who it is that using your avatar and we'll take it from there.

~ Can I cahnge my reserved avatar?
yup. Just let us know what you want done with your old one (taken down, or made public, etc).

~ Do I have to reserve my avatar?
Nope. If you don't mind if other board members use the same avatar as you, please request that it's made public when you send it to us.

~ Can I send in avatars for the public folders?
Certainly! All new avatars are welcome.

~ What size do they need to be?
about 100 X 100 pixels is our image size limit, and we try to keep them under 3K. If you don't know how to edit the image for this just send it anyway and we'll do it for you.

~ How long will it take until I can use my avatar?
Well it all depends. This is all done manually so there's a lot of factors that can influence this. We may not have the time for a few days, or it could be up within 5 minutes. We'll send you a message when it ready.

I would like to get my own avatar. But I don't know where to look to get one. When people get them - where are they getting them from? I don't know where to even begin looking?

ok, well first of all i guess it depends what you're lookin for. If you serach for stuf fon the net and find a picture you like on a webpage somewhere, send me the URL and a description of the picture you want and i can take it from there.
If you can scan pictures, try looking in magazines, taking photos, drawing. There's also a huge collection of avatars for public use, and i'm adding quite a few more to that as we speak...
That's about all i can think of really.....

Click the "profile" link at the top of this page, and then scroll to the bottom, you'll see the "avatar gallery" there which you can look through, and choose any avatar (other than from reserved or reserved2
