Spammers on bus

Post by PLAIN JANE » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:46 pm

I realize spammers are just a nasty part of keeping bus open for everyone. The staff here does an excellent job of removing them, it just burns my buns to log on and see them. The porn is the worst, if you enjoy it that's fine by me but there is a time and place for everything.

I have to agree, the times when there's a spammer who just posts all over the boards, it's not great.

Having said that, the staff here are amazing at removing the spam, and the spammers :D

I know, it's so annoying, but it's just a part of being online.

When we raise the security levels on the board, sometimes it can make it harder for newbies to join up. Which is why we put up with spammers. (The admin know more about this than I do, but that's how I understand it).

Whenever you see spam - just click the report function, which generally means it'll be moved really quickly & they'll be nuked the next time an admin gets online.

I love deleting spam posts when I can see the spammer is still online - it's great fun

Everything that El said - I enjoy zapping on-line spammers as well :D .

Most of the spammers get zapped before they get a chance to post - El and I (and all of the other mods) check things regularly and report to the admins, who do a great job of nuking them :) .

I must admit I do get a bit of satisfaction in reporting them.
It takes all of us to keep bus free of the nasty buggers.

Same here Plain Jane. I have been tempted to write nutty comments on the spam reports.

There's a certain satisfaction that comes with reporting it, yes :olol:

feel free to write nutty comments on the spam reports, it's only us admins and mods that see it, it might brighten our spam splatting if there's something funny on there.

(as an aside once in a fit of rage to someone that was spamming lots i wrote them a PM telling them to leave us alone (it never got picked up and the spammer was splatted by an admin very soon after i sent it) but it made me feel a lot better to vent out at how annoying i found them!)

Dear Spammer,

You're an apple! :olol:
