PMs

Post by leasmith » Sun Jul 12, 2009 5:49 pm

I am beginning to wonder if my PMs are going through. Afew days ago I sent a PM to someone who is very good about replying, and I have gotten nothing. Did not see message in either the outbox or the sent messages folders.
Thanks
Lea

twenty quid says that their(and/or your) PM box is full, and that they haven't changed the board defult action for this case. cause the defult action is to not acept PMs with a ful inbox.

can be changed in user control panel; private messages; rules, folders and settings; if folder is full. options are to do nothing and not acept pm, delete oldest pm or move old pms to a diffrent folder

I am almost positive neither folder is full.

Maybe check the drafts folder?
Are you certain you hit submit and not save?

That has been checked. No Luck. I think Hedgepig had sent a PM also that had nothing that showed it had been sent. Wondering if a permission was not set correctly for some of us.

Hmm... can you try sending me a PM, and lets see if it goes through? If it doesn't, then we will know something is wrong, but I think if you can see your PM box to write them that you have permissions to send them.

It is more likely that the person you are sending the message to has a full inbox... I think the size of the inbox dropped when we changed over, cause I had to clean mine out and change the settings to delete old stuff, rather than just not accept new things.

I think I see what went wrong now. When you use compose message and add the name in the send to box, you need to hit submit two times. Rather it is a different procedure.

the limit changed because you can create up to four message boxesnow, so your limit per box is lower but your overall limit is either higher or the same, i forget which.
