The Board: Dragging Its Ass Since Sunday

Post by Spidey » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:44 am

I know for a fact that it is not my internet -- I can get to anywhere else on the Series of Tubes just fine.

But the forum...is SLOW. To the point where accessing certain pages gets me my first set of "LOL NOs" by my browser in MONTHS.

Can someone see if the forum's intartubes is borked?

It's been fine for me...the only reason it's slow at home I know for sure is because of a slow computer, so it isn't me...

I have noticed the same slowness in the mornings, I'm in the same time zone as PassingCloud, GMT +1. Sometimes I can't get in at all, but that rarely lasts for more than a few minutes. Otherwise it seems to work as usual.

i've noticed it being intermittently slow sometimes too - particularly when I go to post a reply, or change forums. The post a reply function seems to be the worst. But I haven't noticed it at any particular time of day - just generally.

Yeah, the post a reply function can be very slow, but I think it has been that way for quite some time, not only recently...

Submitting replies seems to really hang sometimes, and it's been happening a lot recently. I've also noticed consistent general slowness around 7pm and 1-2am EST, but that's been happening for ages now.

could the slowness at that time be just from so many people being on the board?

It's slow for me off and on, but I haven't noticed any particular time or area it's being slow.
I have quite fast internet, and I can get to other internet sites okay, so it's not just me. :)

Sorry if that sounded very snobby, or horrible. It really wasn't meant that way!

Take care,
Annie.

This has been getting worse and worse for me over the last few days. It's so bad that I'm having trouble navigating and reading at all, and posting replies and doing adminny tasks are next to impossible right now. It takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes for pages to load, and that makes them time out. It isn't any certain time of the day for me...it's mostly 24/7 now. I know it's just BUS- my connection is superfast, I've got tons of memory in my laptop, and the rest of teh Interweb is running great.

I was thinking that it was just me...

It is getting very frustrating and yes, it has gotten worse and it isn't happening at any specific time, as a matter of fact it has been happening frequently over the past couple of hours.
