mark (who is an absolute saint and my hero and totally r0x0rs) is going to upgrade the server because there's been so much database querying happening that it's slowing things way way down.
the bad news is that this will involve some downtime over the holiday. i'm not sure when or how much yet, but afterward it should be much much better,
