font on bus

Post by b3autifu2l37 » Sat Dec 09, 2006 8:20 pm

i logged on today and the font on BUS is totally different than it always is. whatever i type, the names of things, links, posts, EVERYTHING.. is in some weird new font.

any reason for this? it's legible, but if someone could help me, i'd like to change it back to how it was before.

Presumably you haven't changed theme?

As far as I know, we haven't altered any fonts. So it's more likely to be your browser settings. Have a look in your browser preferences, and perhaps also at any accessibility settings on your computer.

i went to google and a few other websites to see if it was just BUS, and it isn't. internet explorer also has Courier New as it's font now (i don't remember what it was before). so it's not just BUS.. but i want to fix it.

i went to the font themes in my settings on internet explorer and it only gave me a choice of like, 4 fonts.. courier new being the "plainest" one. i don't know why i don't have the choices i had previously.. my dad said he 'updated' internet explorer last night, but surely there must be a way to undo the font change?

someone please let me know :x

what operating system do you use?

also check what pages are "encoded" in by default

you an do that by going to edit (or view) > character encoding. it should either say western or unicode.

have you installed any new fonts lately? sometimes that messes up settings

i checked my internet explorer...i went to internet options then fonts and when the fonts box opens...look underneath where it says 'Web page font'...mine is set to 'Times New Roman', which i thnk is the default font for web pages cause i never use internet explorer...you mite have to scroll down the list until you get to it...click on the font you want...then click on okay...

hope that helps, B3autifu2l37...

When I got my last lot of windows updates it changed all my fonts too - perhaps that is what happened?

OMG. now that you mentioned it, my computers been popping up "windows has updates" for a few days.. and now it's gone (meaning someone in my family already updated these things). and a bunch more different things are on here that weren't before.

do you know how to fix this? not that it's really a big deal anymore, i've gotten used to it by now

Well, my first suggestion would be to uninstall that horrid Internet Explorer 7!!!! but hey, just cause i hated it, doesnt mean everyone else will. lol

did the trouble start after the new version of IE was installed? or was it some other random update? You can safely uninstall IE7 and go back to using IE6, you may try uninstalling it to see if that fixes the problem.

also in Plain Text font select Courier New if it isnt already selected.

umm, or just be cool like some people and download Mozilla Firefox 8)

I'd actually advise against this. If, for example, you wish to download things from the Microsoft website, you may need Internet Explorer. Just because IE7 is installed on your computer doesn't mean you have to use it.

I'd recommend trying either Opera or Firefox. I prefer Opera, but most other people I know prefer Firefox. Both are good.

By uninstalling IE7, it just automatically goes back to IE6. you dont have to go completly IE free, just back to the previous version
